Coming closer: PLEEC Energy Efficiency Forum in Copenhagen!

We are organizing our second PLEEC Energy Efficiency Forum in this year´s European Green Capital 2014 Copenhagen! On 29 October 2014, from 13 - 18.30 h the forum titled "European Energy Smart Cities – how to learn from Best Available Practices" will take place in the venues of "Building Green", Denmark´s biggest event for sustainable design, construction and the built environment.

European Energy Smart Cities for the future – how to reach a higher level? Experiences and Best Practices are available but how can they be adapted to other cities? How to plan for, identify and implement proven solutions under varying conditions in different cities and still reaching the results desired?

The PLEEC project arranges this forum to highlight and discuss the opportunities but also the challenges in identifying and adapting the Best Available “Energy Efficient” Practices from different cities of Europe to fit with the unique conditions of each specific city.
The aim of the event is to share experiences in order to further develop the future tools for the city’s planning process in becoming a true energy efficient smart city.

The forum takes place on 29 October 2014 from 13 to 18.30 hrs within the framework of Building Green Fair in Copenhagen (Address: FORUM Copenhagen, Julius Thomsens Plads 1, 1925 Frederiksberg Copenhagen). The participation is free of charge.

You can find the official invitation to the forum and the registration form at the PLEEC project website: http://pleecproject.eu/events/

We look very much forward to seeing you in Copenhagen!

On the way to an energy efficient future...

After having analyzed the current “energy efficient” situation of our PLEEC partner cities (WP2), work goes on.. ;)
We are now focusing on three parallel Work Packages 3, 4 and 5 which deal with the elaboration of recommendations for the cities on how to become more energy efficient. These will be worked out from three key perspectives: technology-driven (WP3), structure-driven (WP4) and behavior-driven efficiency (WP5).

During WP3 – “Technology driven energy efficiency” potentials of new technologies for smart energy systems will be identified. In this Work Package the industry partners of our project disposing of great technical knowledge and experience take a leading role.

Therefore we will present you today one of our collaborating industry partner!

Siemens PLM Software, a business unit of the Siemens Industry Automation Division, is a world-leading provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software, systems and services with nine million licensed seats and 77,000 customers worldwide. Headquartered in Plano, Texas, Siemens PLM Software helps companies to improve products by optimizing their lifecycle processes, from planning and development to manufacturing and support.
The HD-PLM vision is to give everyone involved in making a product the necessary information to make the smartest decision. For more information on Siemens PLM Software products and services, visit www.siemens.com/plm

The LMS team involved in the PLEEC project develops the Siemens LMS Amesim solution, allowing the modeling and analysis of multi-domain systems to predict their multi-disciplinary performance and efficiency. Major worldwide transportation OEM´s (original equipment manufacturer) rely on Amesim for their multi-physics system and subsystems 1D dynamic simulation.

During PLEEC project, Siemens PLM´s function is to analyze the potential positive effect of simulation activities in tomorrow’s city planning in order to achieve higher urban energy efficiency.
The Siemens PLM experience in simulation software development, physical system modeling and analysis and collaborative RTD projects will greatly contribute to the PLEEC project!
