PLEEC Final Conference: Paving the way for smart cities!

Showdown for the PLEEC project: The Final Conference on 8 March 2016 was the opportunity for the PLEEC project partner consortium to showcase the results achieved and present the core outputs of the PLEEC project.

An inspring keynote speech by Carsten Rothballer from ICLEI Europe, the presence and welcoming words of our EC project officer Eric Lecomte, a promising PLEEC image movie, two roundtable discussions and a live-presentation of the PLEEC model website on sustainable energy efficiency planning found entrance into the diversified programme!


Around 90 participants were eager to learn about the achievements of PLEEC project and discuss future paths for a sustainable development of our cities. During the coffee breaks attendess had the possibility to connect and visit the poster exhibition.


All PLEEC cities are ambitious to work on their cities´ energy performance and a sustainable future also beyond the PLEEC project´s lifetime. These commitments were declared in the PLEEC Declaration officially handed over to EC project officer Eric Lecomte (DG Energy) at the end of the Conference.

We are very proud of this successful event and trust that our work on energy efficient cities was fruitful. We hope other cities got inspired to follow us on the way to getting energy smart!
